We have created a Welcoming Garden outside our Library. This space celebrates the diverse cultures within our school community. By incorporating culturally relevant plants, symbols, and activities, we are hoping that the garden can become a place of learning, connection, and cross-cultural understanding, and that we can foster a sense of belonging and appreciation for the unique heritage of each student and their family.
Plants in the garden include:
Rhododendron and Pear trees that originate from Asia
Cherry trees from Japan
Salvia and Dahlias from South America
Rosemary from Europe
Smoke Bush from North America
Gazania from Africa
Grevillea from Australia
These plants have joined our beautiful native plants from New Zealand that are also throughout our garden.
We look forward to developing the garden further and to sharing it with everyone in our diverse community.
