With Spring almost with us, Southbase Construction continue to make good progress with the construction of the new school, and the associated site works. Work has now started on the new roundabout that will give access from State Highway 84 into Three Parks, and on the new road alongside the school.

The new road will be known as Grace Wright Drive to recognise the contribution of Grace Montgomery Wright to education in the Upper Clutha region. Grace Wright was Head Teacher at the Wanaka School (which had previously been known as the Albert Town School) from 1888. The Establishment Board is grateful to Willowridge Developments for proposing this most suitable name, and to the Wanaka Community Board for approval of the name.

The Establishment Board is also happy to see the installation of solar panels on the roof of the main Administration building. The Board is committed to environmental sustainability and has appreciated the willingness of the Ministry of Education to support this commitment.
